This is embarrassing...

but necessary. After somewhat denying that I pretended to ride the camel like a cowgirl, I received this picture in my e-mail. Needless to say, I retract the denial. The timing of this shot is perfect.

Other news: I changed the setting so that you should now be able to post comments without having to join Blogger, and I'll start responding to them as well, I promise. Also, I have more pictures to upload but first need to buy some more space on Picasa web, so check back later this week. Real post coming soon, I'm going to a Palestinian fashion show tonight, woo hoo!

The folks at BR would be proud of you:) Can you vault on a camel? Mom

I didn't try vaulting, the ride was actually a little bumpier than a horse. Especially when he made the camel trot. love you momma.

Hey Cassie, We always knew you were a natural camel jockey. From your pictures it looks a lot like Arizona, except drier. What's the temperature? It was 109 F here today and that's like a regular day. Keep up the good work, Pete

The temperature is usually in the mid-90s, and very dry. However, I do think the sun feels even hotter here, my host father claims it is because I am at a different angle to the sun than I am in DC. But I've grown accustomed to it!

Cassie,

This is quite interesting and educational and I enjoy reading it. I'd like to hear what the Israeli's think. Any chance any of those soldiers some of you seem to have befriended would tell you their side of the story.

...be safe....

So i'm curious to hear about your conversations there about what's happening in Lebanon. The times are so unstable, and every day seems a step closer to global harm, not just local for a few scared citizens. In a country that daily sees such violence and threat of violence, what is the talk of Israel's recent behavior towards Hezbollah (sp?)? There is a unique perspective you obtain that we won't ever get here, considering the US's incestuous (is this a good term?) relationship with Israel.
I hope you are well. I truly enjoy hearing about your experiences and am glad you open all our eyes to something happening on the other side of the world that otherwise might not catch our attention as much,
Andrea

Hello Cassie, That is quite an adventure you are undertaking. Please be careful and Ben would like to know if there are any trout in that stinky creek?
